Salt Lake Open is back for 2025 bringing you Open HEMA Tournaments, workshops, free sparring, vendors and more!

About the event

Held over a weekend, Salt Lake Open is a Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) tournament open to participants from all across North America and spectators. The goals of the event are to: exhibit artful fencing, promote HEMA scholarship and sportsmanship, provide a space to develop relationships, and increase Women & Gender Minority involvement in HEMA.

Spectators are free this year, and we will have an indoor area for free sparring available the entire event.

The main event, there will be an Advanced and Intermediate tier. Not recommended for beginning fencers.

FRIDAY

Single tier, open to all skill levels.

Volunteers are essential to the success of Salt Lake Open, and we are grateful for the dedication they bring to the event.
There are a variety of roles available, including attendee check-in, judging, directing, and assisting with setup and teardown. We invite you to learn more about these opportunities and consider joining our outstanding team of volunteers below.

– Venue

We will be renting two buildings out at the Western Sports Park in Farmington Utah, and will have one reserved for Open Sparring and classes the whole event.

Food and Accomidation can be found at farmington station to the North of the venue.
